Bailly-Reverdy Sancerre “Franck & Aurélien”
April 4th, 2026
This benchmark Sancerre captures the essence of the Loire Valley in its purest, most classic form. Bailly-Reverdy’s “Franck & Aurélien” is a wine defined by clarity, minerality, and precision.
Founded in 1988, Domaine Bailly-Reverdy builds on generations of family-held vineyards. Today, Franck Bailly and his nephew Aurélien continue to refine the estate’s work with remarkable consistency. Their philosophy is rooted not in flash, but in fidelity to place, grape, and tradition.
This cuvée is a pristine expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Sourced from one of Sancerre’s most prized villages, the wine reflects a terroir of clay-limestone and rocky limestone soils. The élevage is deliberately restrained: about 5% sees neutral oak, while the remainder rests on its lees in stainless steel, preserving freshness while building subtle texture.
In the glass, it shows pale yellow with green highlights. The nose opens with expressive citrus, leading to a fresh, racy palate threaded with fine minerality. Balanced and slightly austere, it delivers a deeply elegant profile with a clean, precise finish that lingers.
At the table, it excels alongside goat cheese, grilled fish, and simple poultry dishes. Its bright acidity and mineral edge make it endlessly versatile.
A serious and compelling wine that reminds us why Sancerre remains one of the world’s great expressions of Sauvignon Blanc.
